Frankincense is a healing oil that strengthens the immune system, and destroys cancer.
In 2013, a group of researchers at the University of Leicester, England, conducted one of the most significant studies. They found that acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid (AKBA), a naturally occurring compound, can target and even kill cancer cells. These findings are brilliant, because they prove that AKVA can destroy late-stage ovarian cancer.
“Frankincense is taken by many people with no known side-effects,” lead researcher Kamla Al-Salmani explained. These findings can be taken to a clinical trial level, and later used in treating ovarian cancer.
Destroys cancer and reduces radiation
The Leicester findings only contributed to the evidence that frankincense and its compounds boost immunity and fight cancer.
A 2009 study published in BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine confirmed that herbal forms of frankincense activates cellular pathways, and thus triggers apoptosis. Researchers at Nihon University in Tokyo conducted a study that was published in Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin. It was found that components in frankincense can kill three different neuroblastoma cell lines. This study also revealed that frankincense stops the growth of Epstein-Barr virus.
Neuroblastoma is a cancer that affects nerve cells, and it is most common in children. Frankincense can also destroy brain, breast, colon, pancreatic, prostate, and stomach cancer.
It also reduces the side effects caused by conventional cancer treatments.
A 2001 study published in Cancer involved patients diagnosed with brain cancer. They had cerebral edema or swelling after their radiation. Researchers revealed that 60 participants who received frankincense had a 75 reduction in their swelling, which is why frankincense can be used as an alternative to steroids, the most common therapy. Steroids can cause headaches, blurred vision, and migraines.
Frankincense boosts immunity, which is why it has such a great power when it comes to destroying cancer. Researchers at Baylor University Medical Center confirmed that frankincense works on the expression of genes that regulate immunity, which eventually kills cancer. Another study from Phytotherapy Research revealed that frankincense exhibits the increase of key markers of the immune system, especially white blood cells and anti-inflammatory potential.
Frankincense is an excellent anti-inflammatory agent. It can help in the treatment of infections, and autoimmune conditions like asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
It heals skin, acne and scarring, and also reduces anxiety.
Use it as an undiluted essential oil on your skin, or put a few drops under your tongue. Frankincense oil can be also diffused and breathed. This relieves respiratory ailments. You can also find it in powdered capsule form.
Boswellia carteri, B. serrate, and B. sacra are some of the species of frankincense. These three can fight cancer, as shown in several studies.
- carteri originates in east Africa, and it’s widely studied. B. sacra, or “sacred frankincense,” was restricted from use by the Saudi royal household, and it was available only in Oman. The new distillery in Oman produces B. sacra essential oil, and it’s available for customers.
