Study: Manuka honey kills more bacteria than all available antibiotics
Australian scientist gave the world an amazing discovery.
They found a type of dark honey which later proved to be efficient in destroying every virus mankind has ever known. It is capable to cure every disease and kill the deadliest bacteria.
In June 2009, the results of this study were published in the European Journal of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Disease. The discovery was confirmed to be more effective than conventional antibiotics. These drugs cannot do anything regarding the resistant ‘superbugs,’ but this discovery sure can.
It is manuka honey, or jelly bush honey, if you prefer it better.
It has become so popular, that the markets have been dealing with shortages. This contributed to the production of fake manuka honey, and the original New Zealand manuka producers required a trademark protection which is something like the French champagne and Scottish whiskey.
Now that the world know about it, it is easy to understand why the manuka honey is that healthy. For some experts it is nothing less than a miracle.
Manuka honey destroys MRSA and other superbugs
Manuka honey is made from bees that ‘process’ the nectar of Leptospermum Scoparium, the New Zealand manuka bush. These trees only grow in Australia and New Zealand.
According to the study, manuka honey literally destroyed every bacteria and pathogen that was tested with the honey. A report by The Australian suggests that topical applications of manuca honey relieve skin infections, cuts, or insect bites. It can be used orally as well.
Manuka honey has a darker shade than regular honey
The study showed that no bug managed to develop immunity against the honey, which is a common issue regarding conventional antibiotics.
Dr. Dee Carter of the University of Sydney’s School of Molecular and Microbial Biosciences explains:
“New antibiotics tend to have short shelf lives, as the bacteria they attack quickly become resistant. Many large pharmaceutical companies have abandoned antibiotic production because of the difficulty of recovering costs. Developing effective alternatives could therefore save many lives.”
Dr. Carter added that methyglyoxal in manuka honey binds with several unknown compounds and causes a ‘multi-system failure’ that kills the bacteria.
Where can you buy original manuka honey?
Having in consideration that the production of fake manuka honey is on the rise, always buy products that are UMF certified.
Look for manuka honey in healthy food stores. You can also buy it online, but make sure your source is trusted.
‘UMF’ means ‘Unique Manuka Factor.’ It is the only product with strong phytochemical potential, because manuka bushes are the only source of these unique properties. The Unique Manuka Factor Honey Association of New Zealand regulates this term. Some certified manuka products are available on Amazon. com.
Comvita manuka honey is an UMF certified brand. You can find it on Amazon. Here is what one customer on Amazon said about the way manuka honey helped him fight MRSA:
“I had done a fair amount of research when a friend of ours got MRSA, and then, unfortunately, I got it too., said user JoshuaOne9 on Amazon. Thankfully, I had already done the research so I knew exactly what to do. As soon as I saw the red bump (thinking the first day that it was a mosquito bite) I scratched it, but the second day I realized that it had to be something else. My husband immediately knew what it was since we had been dealing with our friend’s case of MRSA. I got my hands on this Manuka honey and put on the area of skin that was affected and then it is very important that you cover it with a bandaid. Within hours I felt relief and within a few days it was completely gone…”
This sure requires further research, but we can freely say that manuka honey promises great power against the worst health challenges people face in the 21th century.
